Draw a Box Review - A look back at my 2020

Hello everyone! Welcome to my 3rd review! This one is going to be a bit longer as it is going to dive a bit into my thought process on drawing and my year in review (the TLDR will still be short!). TLDR: Draw a box is a great way for new artists to build construction drawing skills and expand their understanding of communicating 3D space on paper. The course realistically takes around a year or more to complete, but will set you up for success. If you are looking for more information, check out ‘Dynamic Sketching’ and Peter Han. I’ll say up front

Course Review: Kazone Art Online Drawing Hands

Hello everyone! Welcome to my second review! TLDR: Overall this course was excellent for teaching all the important aspects about drawing hands. I would emphasize that this is about drawing hands and in my opinion is very geared towards moving artists to draw hands from imagination, which makes sense since most of the well known Kazone instructors are Superani artists (lots of character invention). Full Course Name: How to Draw Hands Link: https://www.kazoneonline.com/p/how-to-draw-hands Cost: $47 Instructor: Hyun Jin Kim Longer Review I’ve watched Superani artists draw figures in awe since I first got back into art/drawing a little over a year ago. When I first heard that there were several courses being offered through Kazone Online, I was excited but also thought they were a bit pricey considering what they were offering. That changed after I watched the preview video for “How To Draw Hands” on YouTube ( https://youtu.be/XXiUlO4dxZY ). The multi plane approach to the ha

Course Review: Kurt Michael Russell's Beginner Procreate Course on Udemy

Hello all! Welcome to my first review. TLDR: This is a great course that demonstrates a comic book style of coloring and shows KMR's workflow in Procreate. It was extremely helpful in learning Procreate's features and how digital painting can be approached. One cavet I'll put in here is that if you don't have great drawing fundamentals (like me), it can be frustrating to have good color on a crappy character! First Blog!

Hello all! Welcome to the first post on my new blog that will focus on art. For a while it will focus largely on my drawing and rough sketches as that's the point I am currently at in my art journey. I'm largely a self-taught artist who drew as a child and teenager but hasn't drawn in long time! I've recently (in the past year) picked drawing and creating art back up as a hobby, and wanted a place to document my journey and thoughts. I will also post reviews of several of the online courses that I've gone through and will go through in the future! Depending on the length of the course I may post in progress reviews.
